We shot a wedding last week for our dear friend Salt Lake City based wedding photographer Pepper Nix. You can just see her behind the little girl on the right, she’s “bossing” people around. Heh, not really “bossing” more like politely trying to get everyone in place for the requested group shots before the reception starts and the caterers get upset because the food is starting to spoil and the photographers are still shooting away…

We love shooting as a second photographer for a change. It means we can really concentrate on the moments like this, the behind the scenes action. We’ll post more from this fun wedding, shot in Temecula, later in the week.

As the late afternoon southern California sunshine becomes the famed “golden hour” we are able to photograph at our fave time of day. And the Malibu location, backdrop, shade, environment, cast of beauties at this wedding made for perfect after the ceremony pictures!

The Malibu Canyon evening was as perfect as it could be. The weather was warm but not too warm, and the couple were tall and made for each other. What a joy to behold…

It’s the anticipation, everyone is waiting, the Oaks room at Calamigo’s Ranch is resplendently fabulous, the wedding party is waiting and bride is just about to walk down the aisle with her mom…

And this is the very happy and lovely Randee and Mitch, who are getting married in August at a Sonoma winery. We are SO looking forward to shooting their wedding! We shot their engagement shoot in and around Shutters Hotel in Santa Monica on the beach. Just like a movie! A few choice shots below. These two are a fabulously sophisticated, elegant and stylish couple who turn heads every where they go. They actually live in Scottsdale, AZ.

We get asked every so often about shooting weddings in Northern California. Well, we do often shoot events there. Here’s why - Naomi was born in San Francisco and her family live in Marin, and Will’s brother lives in the city. We both used to live there, we still know many folk and often visit. So if you are reading this and have an event planned in the beautiful Bay Area, get in touch and tell us about it - we are often there and don’t charge extra travel costs!

Katie and Joe actually met while salsa dancing, and they ended their fabulous big day with an outrageous and stunning routine they had learned. Talk about the wedding day “wow” factor…
